The Town of Yucca Valley has announced the launch of a community survey on its website to gather input from citizens as part of an update to the Town’s Development Code.Â The current project is the first comprehensive update to the Development Code since Yucca Valley incorporated in 1991.
The Development Code implements the Yucca Valley General Plan through the establishment of standards and requirements for the development of all privately owned properties in the Town of Yucca Valley.Â The current Development Code contains many standards carried over from San Bernardino County, as well as the amendments adopted by the Town since incorporation. The Yucca Valley Youth Commission is an advisory group of middle school and high school students appointed by the Town Council to provide input on youth related issues in Yucca Valley.Â Several of the 2010-11 Youth Commissioners have voiced concerns regarding drug abuse and underage drinking in the local community.Â (more…)
The Town of Yucca Valley Public Works Division has announced anticipated impacts on local traffic due to road construction at the new Rite Aid site on Warren Vista. Street improvements at the Warren Vista Shopping Center (Rite Aid) site located at SR62 & Warren Vista are scheduled to begin Monday, January 17, 2011.
Warren Vista will be closed from SR62 to Yucca Trail to all traffic Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am until 3:30 pm during this phase of construction. North and southbound traffic on Warren Vista, as well as traffic turning south from SR62 on to Warren Vista, and traffic turning north from Yucca Trail will be affected. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and to use caution when driving near the construction area.
Road construction is expected to be completed by January 31, 2011.
Burrtec is pleased to announce the agency’sÂ annual collection program to recycle holiday trees and wreaths. Burrtec customers can delivery greenery to the large bins staged in the dirt lot,Â located on the north side of the Yucca Valley Community Center. The greenery collection program will continue through January 14th. All greenery must be free of any decorations including tree stands, bags, tinsel, ribbon and bows.
