The Town of Yucca Valley will be holding its Spring Community Cleanup & Recycling Day on Saturday, April 9, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The drop-off site for trash and recycling will be at the northwest corner of Highway 62 & Hilton Avenue.
The Yucca Valley Community Cleanup & Recycling Day is being held in conjunction with the County of San Bernardino’s Free Dump Day. Yucca Valley residents are encouraged to take advantage of this day for garage cleaning and yard sprucing by taking refuse to the drop-off site or to the Landers landfill. All large or loose loads, including green waste/vegetation, must be taken to the landfill, which will be open between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and is free of charge on April 9th only.
Commercial size roll-off dumpsters will be provided by Burrtec at the Town’s drop-off site. Bagged or boxed household trash/waste, electronics, appliances and mixed recycling (which includes paper, glass, plastic, aluminum and cardboard) will be accepted at the site. A limit of four rimless tires per load will also be accepted at the site.
Town officials note that green waste/vegetation will not be accepted at the town cleanup site, but should be delivered to the landfill. Appliances will also be accepted at the landfill. Drivers must be prepared to show a valid driver’s license confirming residency in San Bernardino County.
