A new 4-week session of tennis lessons for tiny tots, teens and adults will begin September 6 at the Jacobs Park tennis courts. This lesson structure provides group lessons with some time for individual instruction. The tennis lessons are taught by Mary Hagerty-Severns, a certified professional tennis instructor with twenty-five years of experience teaching all levels and age groups. The fall line-up includes lessons for those new to the game as well as seasoned players. Beginners will learn the basic strokes, eye hand coordination, and scoring while experienced players will work on stroke improvement and playing strategies.
The class is part of the fall line-up of recreational activities organized by the Town of Yucca Valley’s Community Services Department. The complete class schedule can be seen in the Fall Experience Yucca Valley activity guide or on-line at the Town website, www.yucca-valley.org. Participants are required to pre-register and pay the $30.00 class fee at the Yucca Valley Community Center prior to the first lesson. There is no on-sight registration. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Registration is also available online at www.yucca-valley.org.
