Pre Season Lap Swim Schedule Updated

The Town of Yucca Valley has announced an update to the pre-season lap swimming schedule at the Yucca Valley High School pool.  The revised schedule is as follows:

Saturday, May 5          8 am and 9 am
Saturday, May 12        2 pm and 3 pm
Saturday, May 19        8 am and 9 am
Saturday, May 26        8 am and 9 am
Saturday, June 2          2 pm and 3 pm
Saturday, June 9          2 pm and 3 pm

The pool is located on the Onaga Trail side of the high school campus, 7600 Sage Avenue. The lap swim fee is $3 per hour.

The Town\’s summer program of lessons, afternoon fun swim and other activities will begin in June, after the high school lets out for summer vacation.   Registration for swim lessons will begin on June 2nd for Yucca Valley residents.  Complete information about the summer aquatics program will be available on May 14th at the Community Services office (760) 369-7211.

Public Visioning Workshop- YV General Plan

The Town of Yucca Valley is currently updating its General Plan, which serves as a comprehensive long-range policy document and vision for the future of the community.  The Town\’s General Plan was adopted in 1995.

The General Plan addresses issues such as livability, compatibility of land uses, circulation, housing, open space, natural resources, economic development and fiscal sustainability.

As part of the ongoing public outreach associated with the General Plan Update, the Town invites residents, property owners and businesses in Yucca Valley to participate in the Town\’s General Plan Update 2035 public outreach meeting to be held in the Mesquite Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center on Saturday, April 21st between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.  All community members are encouraged to assist the Town in establishing its vision for the future by participating in these important public workshops.

The complete General Plan Update is expected to be completed in 2013, and the public\’s ongoing participation in the project is highly encouraged.
