The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is a family-oriented facility with collections
and exhibits related to the deserts unique natural and historical
elements. The museum features educational opportunities for visitors of
all ages, including natural history dioramas displaying wildlife in the
desert, an interactive Kids Korner with plenty of hands-on
activities, a mini-zoo with live desert creatures, a gem and mineral
collection, a Native American artifacts exhibit and a fossil collection.
Six rotating exhibits related to the local natural and historical theme
are scheduled each year.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Exhibition 2017
On Display March 16 - June 3
The community is invited to contribute original works of art inspired by and made from recycled or reused materials for display in the museum's annual exhibition, "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" which will also be featured during the Town of Yucca Valley's Earth Day Celebration on April 22.
Paintings, scullptures, photographs, mixed media and up-cycled creations are welcome.
Children and school projects are especially encouraged!
Art submissions will be taken March 9th – 11th.

Chamber Music at the Museum
Saturday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. (Matinee)
The February performance will feature “Frank Martinez”, an American Composer, artist multi-instrumentalist, and educator based in Los Angeles. He will join the Encelia Ensemble with the guitar.
Tickets are available for a donation of $15 for standard seating and $20 for preferred seating.

Schedule a private visit and program for you and your friends, bring your children and their friends, or your visitors from out of town. Private group visits are available for a donation; minimum of ten and a maximum of thirty people. Private tours are one hour in length. The Museum offers a variety of natural history programs.
Field trips are available for K-6, home schoolers, scout troops, and others and can be scheduled for Tuesdays through Fridays.

The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is pleased to partner with the Morongo
Basin Historical Society in hosting their series of history programs. Each month a new topic related to our colorful local history will be presented by an experienced speaker.

Brrown Bag Lunch Series
Enjoy a once-a-month lunch break with your neighbors and friends at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum, while learning about an interesting topic related to the High Desert. This lecture series will be held one Thursday a month. Lectures start at noon;
Admission $5 (free with museum membership).
