Presented by the Hi Desert Nature Museum and the Yucca Valley Recreation Department

Join us for a day of Halloween-themed games and activities. Dress in costume or come as you are and enjoy our frightfully fun activities. In the museum: Face Painting—Scavenger Hunt—Hands-on Crafts! 

Halloween Costume Contest

Get dressed in your Halloween best and show off. Prizes will be awarded in these categories:
Best Homemade Costume Most Original Costume, Funniest Costume Most Eco-friendly Costume, Silliest Costume Ugliest Costume
Judging will be held at the Community Center  ~ Yucca Room

Date: Saturday, Ocotber 25
Time: Sign-up starts at noon—judging at 1:00 p.m.
Location: Yucca Valley Community ~ Yucca Room
Judging catagories ages: 0-6 & 7 -12
Cost: Free

Carved Pumpkin Contest

Bring your carved and decorated pumpkin to the Community Center and have it judged in following categories: Scariest (not gory), Funniest, Most Unusual, Best in Show
All decorations must be completed by pens, crayons, markers, paints, or by carving.Objects may be glued or stuck into or on the pumpkins

Date: Saturday, October 25
Time: Registration starts at 10:00am Prizes will be awareded at 2:00pm

Holiday Craft Faire

Ready to tackle your holiday shopping? Here is a great way to pick up those unique gifts for that “hard to buy for” person. Over 50vendors will be displaying a variety of quality, handcrafted items for your browsing enjoyment!

Letters to Santa

Santa’s elves will soon be here to pick up your letters to Santa! Drop your letter off in the
special mailbox at the Community Center. The elves will make sure Santa knows to “write
back.” Must enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. The mailbox will be up from
November 10 through December 5.
Letters can be dropped off or mailed to the address below:

Tree Lighting Cenemony and Santa Visits
Santa is planning a special tour of Yucca Valley! On Saturday, December 6th, Santa will be stopping by the parks to visit children in the neighborhood. His final stop will be at the Community Center where he will host the Town’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, where there will be music, hot cocoa, cider, and cookies. Bring your camera for that special picture with Santa, and your singing voice (hummers welcome too!), Be ready to get into the holiday spirit!
