Visit with Santa & Holiday Craft Faire
Getting ready for the holidays? Take the whole family out to the Community Center and the Hi-Desert Nature Museum. Santa will be at the Museum and is looking forward to visiting with children. Bring your camera for that special holiday picture and get creative with fes-tive arts projects in the museum. Enjoy hot cocoa and cookies in the courtyard. Next door at the Community Center get hand-made gifts at the annual Holiday Craft Faire. This is the perfect opportunity to tackle your holiday shopping with unique gifts from talented local artisans! Door prizes will be awarded throughout the event.

Letters to Santa
Santa's elves are coming to pick up your letters to Santa!  Drop letters off in the special mailbox at the Community Center.  The elves will make sure Santa will write back.
Must enclose a self addressed envelope.
Letters will be accepte from Novmber 7 through December 2, 2016
Letters can also be mailed to:

Sounds of the Season
The Town of Yucca Valley and the Hi-Desert Chorus present this holiday concert.
The Chorus will be joined by the YVHS Select Choir, directed by Bill Barrett and accompanied by Clyde Grabski
Dates: Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11

Joshua Tree National Park:
The science laboratory in your backyard

September 30 - December 17
In addition to being a place where locals and tourists enjoy the tranquility and serene beauty of the desert, Joshua Tree National Park is also the place for cutting edge science. JTNP conducts studies in archaeology, botany, environmental science, geology, paleontology, zoology and more. This exhibit allows visitors to explore their National Park behind the scenes.

Seeds: Nature's Artful Engineering
January 7 - March 11, 2017
This exhibit aims to increase awareness and appreciation of the beauty, diversity, ingenuity and critical importance of seeds and their dispersal mechanisms in California native plants. Against many, many odds they are the final step in ensuring the survival of plant life.

Earth Day Fair Exhibitors and Vendors Wanted
Fair Date: Saturday, April 22, 2017 Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s Earth Day is the premier destination in the high desert to learn about environmental issues and solutions in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere of celebration. Artists,
musicians, and dancers entertain visitors, hands-on activities, educational displays and hand-made items are an important part of the Fair.
Vendors and Exhibitors are strongly encouraged to offer products and services that are in keeping with the environmental spirit of Earth Day, including give-a-ways that are useful and can be recycled if discarded. For more detailed information and an application go to www.hidesertnaturemuseum.org

Chamber Music at the Museum

The “Encelias” will be joined by David & Paulette Miller a Flute & Harp Duo. David and Paulette have been performing together for many years in Southern California and Italy.
