                 23rd Annual Healthy Hearts 5K Run and 2 K Health Walk

It’s time to put that New Year’s resolution to work! The “Healthy Hearts 5K Run and 2K Community Health Walk” is held in conjunction with National Heart Month. Registration forms are available at the Community Center or pre-register online at www.yucca-valley.org.

Time: Race day registration 8:00—8:45 a.m.
Race begins at 9:00 a.m.
Cost: $20/includes t-shirt / under 12 & 60 plus $18 with t-shirt

A California Indian Feast
January 8 through February 28, 2015
Hi-Desert Nature Museum

Celebrating traditional California Indian food sources "Seaweed, Salmon and Manzanita Cider" features historic and contemporary photos, baskets and other artifacts, food specimens, memoirs, and recipes of Native American cuisine. The exhibit also showcases the extensive and sophisticated system of environmental knowledge underlying California Indian use of food resources.

Personal Self Defense Class

Learn the time tested art of the Samurai-tailored to today’s environment.

Learn the time tested art of the Samurai-tailored to today’s environment. Participants will learn a variety of self defense techniques. This 2 1/2 hour, hands-on lesson includes demonstrations, instruction and lecture. Students will pair up to practice so comfortable clothing is recommended and no jewelry please. Space is limited, early registration is encouraged.
