Mayor and Town Council announce #YuccaTogether in response to the
COVID – 19 Public Health Emergency

The Town of Yucca Valley announces that #YuccaTogether has been established to unite this community as we confront the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.  On behalf of the entire Town Council, Yucca Valley Mayor Jeff Drozd expressed, “Now is the time for the residents of Yucca Valley to band together to heed the orders of state and county leaders, support our local community, and offer the home-town compassion that our community has historically shown during times of crisis.  When we stand together, we know this community will be successful in the fight and come out stronger in the end.”

A section of the Town’s website is dedicated to provide up to date local information to the community at http://www.yucca-valley.org/news/COVID-19.html . The Town is also excited to highlight local restaurant opportunities with “Yucca-Eats” and local retail store options with “Yucca Shops”, many providing modified options during this time.  “Local restaurants and retail stores are committed to our community, employing our friends and neighbors, and working tirelessly to provide much-needed services”, said Mayor Drozd.  “We are pleased to stand as #YuccaTogether with our local businesses at this incredibly difficult time.”  This webpage directs individuals to the appropriate source for ongoing information, including the County Department of Health, the State Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control.

Understanding the importance of our local economy, Mayor Drozd has recently requested Town staff to research opportunities to support local businesses affected by the COVID-19 event.  Town staff will present a package of potential Economic Assistance Programs for Yucca Valley businesses at the Special Town Council Meeting of Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 6pm. This meeting will be held remotely and will be available to the public at http://yuccavalleyca.iqm2.com/Citizens/default.aspx
