Town Launches #YuccaTogether Economic Assistance Program
in response to the COVID – 19 Public Health Emergency

The Town of Yucca Valley understands the dire financial impact the current COVID-19 public health emergency is having on our local businesses. At the meeting of March 31st, the Town Council unanimously approved the #YuccaTogether Economic Assistance Package, to help our community’s small businesses which are vital to our local economy.  “This is a great way for the Town to assist our small businesses that make up the fabric of our community. “  said Mayor Jeff Drozd.

The #YuccaTogether Economic Assistance Program includes a waiver of fees for the Town’s Business Registration Program, the waiver of renewal fees for short-term vacation rentals, and a 90-day filing extension to our local hotelier’s transient occupancy taxes (TOT).

Additionally, a Measure Y Loan/Grant Program has been established as part of the #YuccaTogether Economic Assistance Package. This program is intended for small, local businesses with less than $1.0 million in annual revenue to fill as a bridge for other funding sources. Loans and grants of up to $5,000 are being funded through Measure Y.

The loan/grant application and additional information supporting local businesses can be found on the Town’s website at or by calling Jordan Gumbish, Finance and Accounting Supervisor at (760) 369-7207 x229. The program will be offered through June 30, 2020.

The Town of Yucca Valley is dedicated to the health and success of our community. Mayor Drozd and the entire Town Council commends the residents and businesses to continue to be vigilant by following the directives of California’s Governor and San Bernardino County Department of Public Health by social distancing, proper hand washing, and cleaning common surfaces. Also important is to continue to support local retail for essential items, and to patronize the community’s eateries available for takeout or delivery options. These options can be found on the Town’s website at
