#YuccaTogether Economic Assistance Program Successful
Grants Fully Awarded
The Town of Yucca Valley is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Town’s #YuccaTogether Economic Assistance Grant Program. All Economic Assistance Program Measure Y Grants have been fully awarded as of April 28th, 2020. The program was established by the Town Council with $250,000 from the Measure Y funds to assist local businesses who have been significantly impacted during the COVID-19 public health event and is one portion of the #YuccaTogether Economic Assistance Package. The grants were awarded at a maximum of $5,000 per business and have been awarded to 50 local small businesses to fund working capital and assist them through an established recovery plan for operations post COVID-19.
This Economic Assistance Program grant was made possible through the Town’s Measure Y funds. Measure Y is the Town’s ½ cent sales tax that was approved by local voters in 2016 to ensure critical funding for Public Safety, Infrastructure and Quality of Life programs. The Town appreciates all of the local businesses and recognizes that Measure Y is wholly dependent on a healthy business community. This was the basis of this program and has wished each recipient a rapid recovery and sustained business success in these difficult times.
The Town continues to monitor further funding opportunities provided at the County, State, and Federal level and will provide this information via the Town’s website.
To continue to support these local business it is important to remember the local retail stores for essential items, and to patronize the community’s eateries available for takeout or delivery options. These options can be found on the Town’s website at http://www.yucca-valley.org/news/yucca-eats.html . Additional information on the Town’s response to COVID-19 is also available at https://www.yucca-valley.org/home .
