Yucca Valley Animal Shelter receives animals from the Town of Yucca Valley and Morongo Basin. We provide care and shelter to lost pets until we can reunite them with their owners and take in animals that have been relinquished by people who can no longer care for them.

Yucca Valley Animal Shelter is currently operating at 156.14% capacity.

Urgent List

These animals are in urgent need of assistance from a 501(c)(3) Rescue Partner, as they are at risk of humane euthanasia due to medical, behavioral, and/or capacity limits.

If interested in helping, please contact the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter at 760-365-3111 no later than Wednesday, January 14, 2026, to arrange transfer.

All transfers must be completed by 4:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Animal Shelter Operating Committee

In an ongoing effort to enhance the care and services provided by the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter, the Town has established the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter Operating Committee. This newly formed committee is dedicated to reviewing shelter operations, engaging with the community and exploring opportunities for improvement through open, workshop-style discussions. The committee is led jointly by Council member Jeff Drozd and Mayor Pro Tem Jim Schooler.
