The Town of Yucca Valley, in collaboration with Animal Action League, is proud to host a Free Spay & Neuter Event for Town residents. Registration is in-person only at the shelter beginning on July 8th at 9am for dogs and July 9th at 9am for cats. A $20 refundable cash deposit is required.  The clinic will be held at the Animal Action League Main Office in Joshua Tree on July 20th.

This important initiative is aimed at reducing pet overpopulation and promoting responsible pet ownership in our community.

Spaying and neutering not only improves pet health and behavior, but also plays a key role in creating a more sustainable and humane environment for animals. By offering these services at no cost, the Town is removing financial barriers and making it easier for residents to care for their pets responsibly.

Event Details

Who: Dogs and cats with owners living in The Town Limits of Yucca Valley (Valid ID or proof of residency and $20 refundable cash deposit required)

What: Spay/Neuter, Go Home Pain Medication (dogs only), Vaccinations*, E-Collar and Microchip for pets

When: Monday, July 20th, 2026 at Animal Action League (Animal Action League will contact you prior to June 23rd with specific surgery details, including the exact drop-off time, pick-up time, and pre-surgery instructions)

Where: 62762 29 Palms Hwy, Joshua Tree, CA 92252 (Animal Action League Main Office) *note sign-ups will be at the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter

Event Guidelines

• All pets must be at least 2 months old and weigh 2 lbs.
• No brachycephalic breed (flat faced) pets.
• No pets over 6 years old.
• No pets with heart murmurs, any seizures/neurological history and/or females with prior abdominal surgeries.
• No dogs over 80 lbs
• 2 pet limit per household
• Vaccinations Included: Dogs-Rabies, DA2PP + CV, Bordetella, Leptosporsis. Cats- RCPC  *Vaccinations offered depend on weight and age of pet.
• Owners will be required to license pets following Spay/Neuter (fees range between $5-$25)

    • 4 female large (60lbs-80lbs)
    • 4 female medium (40lbs-59lbs)
    • 7 female small (2lbs-35lbs)
    • 5 male medium/large (40lbs-80lbs)
    • 6 male small (2lbs-35lbs)

    • 8 female
    • 6 male

***AAL medical team has the right to refuse surgery on any pet due to breed, age, weight and health concerns***
