Public art is an important element in defining the quality of life in a growing community. The Yucca Valley Town Council adopted its first public art policy in the Fall of 2002. The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Commission oversees the Public Art Program and is administered through the Town of Yucca Valley Community Services Department. The Public Art Program includes a cataloged inventory of public art, identification of suitable locations for future placements and promotes dialogue with potential donors and contributors. Updates in the public art policy in 2022 led to the development of the Art in Daily Lives and Temporary Art Installation Programs. Through these programs, the Town hopes to connect, support and create more opportunities for the art community.

Yucca Valley Branch Library

The Town of Yucca Valley invites artists to submit artwork for a new temporary public art installation at the prominent southwest corner of Highway 62 and Highway 247, located on the Yucca Valley Branch Library property. As one of the most visible locations in town, this central intersection offers artists a high-profile opportunity to share their work with both residents and visitors as part of the Town’s expanding Public Art Program.
