On October 21, 2025, the Town Council awarded the construction contract to LCR Earthwork & Engineering of Norco, California, for the Yucca Mesa Road and Buena Vista Drive Intersection Improvement Project.

The intersection of Yucca Mesa Road and Buena Vista Drive has experienced deterioration due to heavy use as part of the Town’s designated truck route and as a primary daily commute for nearby residents. The existing pavement conditions and intersection alignment no longer meet current traffic demands and, if left unaddressed, could pose a safety concern for motorists.

This project is designed to proactively address these conditions and enhance community safety. Planned improvements include widening the intersection, upgrading the existing pavement from asphalt to reinforced concrete, and adding new curb, gutter, and roadway striping. These upgrades will provide a safer, more durable roadway and help support long-term transportation needs for residents, commuters, and commercial traffic.
