California Senate Bill 827 requires local agencies with public websites to give clear instructions and contact information explaining how the public can request copies of ethics and fiscal/financial training records for covered Town officials. The Town of Yucca Valley is committed to transparency and following state law. Members of the public may request training records using the process described below.

Members of the public may request the following records:

  • Ethics training records (AB 1234) – Required every two years for covered officials. Training must be completed within six months of assuming office (starting January 1, 2026).
  • Fiscal and financial training records (SB 827) – Officials serving on or after Jan. 1, 2026 must complete their first training by Jan. 1, 2028, so some records may not yet be available.

How to Submit a Request for Records

To obtain copies of the training records maintained pursuant to Government Code 53235.2 and 53238.3, submit your request for records online by navigating to the Public Records Request page.

Response Time

Request are processed in accordance with the California Public Record Act (CPRA), which establishes timelines and disclosure requirements for public agencies. The Town Clerk's Office reviews each request and provides responsive records as promptly as possible.
